My favorite time

Of the day is snuggle time with my two favorites....

can't get any better!

A week away

We spent the last week away on vacation.

We started with Mike's 20 year class reunion in Pine Island. Grandma watched the kiddos and we went out for a 'date night' at the reunion. The kids went with Grandma to a picnic that her work was having that night. They had a blast. We had a wonderful time at the reunion. Mike was able to visit with many friends which was nice. Everyone was really nice too. Hard to believe, I graduated from a city school and had a very large graduation class, Mike's was 69 people. It's a very different world from where I went to school and it was awesome to meet everyone I've heard about for so long.

On Sunday, we packed up and headed to Waterville, MN where we spent the week camping at a resort. The key part of this resort is SWIMMING! And did we have an awesome week for that?! It was hot, hot HOT and very humid. We spent each and every day at one or all of the three pools.

Cailin is our resident fish.

She takes after her dad.

Cailin pretty much wore a swimsuit the entire week. She'd take off the wet one, and put on a different dry one. Well, all except for sleeping. She slept in jammies, but otherwise it was a swimsuit all week!

Andrew is always very cautious. I would say that's a little bit like mom, but I do love to swim unlike Mash. He isn't as big of a waterboy as his sister is. Many times, he'll choose to sit next to the pool and watch.

That was how the first day started out. Then the boy got brave.

And that boy grew his fins. He was fish #2 for the week. Swim, swim and more swimming.

Each day, we'd pack a cooler with snacks and drinks and lounge in the shade for snack time.

The view of our campsite from the pool.

It rained at night a few times, but the day time was sunny and hot each day.

Cailin also tried out the diving board this year. She enjoyed it a lot. That is with her lifejacket OR the huge pink swimring (and Mike in the water to catch her helped i'm sure as well).

This should be on the postcard for this place - This was how Cailin relaxed.

We also had this odd thing happen. A female cardinal was constantly sitting on the back window of our camper. She'd hang out in the trees next to the camper and then fly right up and hang out on the window ledge looking in. We thought she wanted to come home with us.

We had an awesome week.

I always feel like we have a very 'scheduled' life. It seems with work, sports, activities, school, preschool - etc etc we are always running to be somewhere at some time. It was so nice to be able to not care what time it was. To be able to just do what you want when you want to. We don't do that nearly enough. We were really able to enjoy our time together and have fun.

Now, on to that huge pile of laundry on my laundry room floor....right.

So sorry...

I am so sorry I haven't updated recently.

This update won't really be an update though.

You see, I have been very, very busy.

Very busy sitting by a pool.

Very busy getting tan. Or well, as tan as I get (which isn't very tan...but kind of tan).

Very busy NOT thinking about work and not planning anything in a day.

Very busy taking turns playing in the water with Tay and Mash.

Very busy waking up when we want to and going to bed when we want to.

Very busy you see on vacation! Yeah!

Will update more very soon!
