Ingredients for a Warm and Humid Summer Evening

These are the ingredients we have at our house to make a Hot Summer Evening complete:

1.) Hot, humid, summer evening. Check.

2.) Girl in Pool. Check.

3.) Boy, nowhere near the pool but still in his swimsuit since he isn't a huge fan of getting wet. Check and check.

4.) Dog, looking longingly behind fence so he doesn't (a) destroy pool, or (b) bother the kids IN the pool since he would be completely in it. Check, check, check.

5.) Boy 'visiting' the sad, lonely dog to 'make him feel better cuz he can't play in the pool'. Yup, check.

6.) Makeshift slide, one that is meant for toddlers, but is really fun in the pool, even for non-toddlers. Looks silly, but ok, check!

7.) Girl, making goofball faces.

8.) Boy, making goofball faces. Of course.

Viola! happiness!

What Have We Been Up To????

We've been busy of course. No shocker there.

Some boy of mine turned 4 recently and had his first "friend" birthday party. He invited about 8 of his friends over to the house.

We rented a Moonbounce (from an AWESOME company - HopHappy in MN if you ever need one - they are FANTASTIC!)

Jumped for a long, long time. (doesn't that smile say it all?? he was soooo happy)

Had a pinata to whack a few times.

Played outside and then inside for awhile since it was really hot and humid, we rotated between hot games outside and playing in the cool A/C as well so no one got overheated.

Oh and have we mentioned it's been hot here. We've been playing with water balloons too.

We've had koolaid mustaches.

We also went camping over the 4th of July weekend. The campground we stayed at had a kiddie parade which was a lot of fun for all of us.

The bugs were really, really bad and it was really, really hot. We were pretty spoiled to have our fancy digs for sleeping, so we didn't have to fight the mosquito's if we didn't really want to, but we did.

The local police department Mounted Cavalry were present to lead our parade.

The kids loved the horses and the officers were really nice.

And we had fun.

Bug bites and all.
