The Stone Barn Pizza

Oma works on weekends at the Stone Barn Pizza in Nelson, Wisconsin.  It's a great road trip and amazing pizza.

Oma works in the Antique shop, so the kids enjoy having pizza with her and helping her in the antique barn selling stuff as Oma's assistants.

We took a day trip down south and stopped at Lark Toys in Kellogg first.  Played with everything, bought a few things, rode the merry go round and played mini golf.

Then it was off to the Stone Barn Pizza.  The day was pretty much picture perfect!  We go there right as they opened.  Which is a good idea as they get VERY busy.
And the Pizza was AMAZING!!!!

Kamp Dels

We did a lot of camping this year. Not as much as we usually do, since we moved and all.  We moved Memorial Day weekend (which is usually a weekend we camp), then did a 4th of July trip and our annual week-long trip to Kamp Dels.

We went with the Frasers again - so much fun!

We spent every single day in the pool and waterpark.

We also went to the petting zoo every day and rode the horses.

The kids went to the driving range (with the dads) and played mini golf.

It was a great week!

The Wedding!

All three kids were in a wedding this spring. Their Uncle Chris got married to an amazing women, Jennifer (Now Auntie Jennifer).

First we had to practice.  That was fun.

All three kids were dressed to the nines and did a great job during the wedding (with the minor exception of one meltdown in the middle of the ceremony - mostly from lack of sleep).

Uncle John, Auntie Melissa and Cousin Michael were in town from DC and were also in the wedding.

They had a photo booth.  Everyone took advantage of that!

The kids had a BLAST playing with new friends (Annabelle) and dancing the night away!

Spring Break 2014

So we listed our house for sale and then immediately went out of town for Spring Break.  It would have been awesome to have sold in one week (it actually took 3 weeks which isn't bad), it didn't sell while we were gone.

We spent Spring Break with our neighbors, the Frasers. We spent the first part of it up in Lutsen at their family cabin. There was less snow this time than when we were there last time, but there was still plenty to plan in. Just much warmer!

Then we spent the second half of the week at Grandview Lodge. So much fun. Waterslide and Waterpark and we had a fabulous condo that we could all stay in and share on the golf course.

The kids always have such a blast together, as do the adults.

Can't wait for next year!

Out with the Old, In with the New!

So our bestest neighbor friends (and bestest friends), the Frasers told us they were moving.  They had been pondering it for some time and found a great place close by in February.  They were planning to move in early April.

That got us to thinking. Again about whether to stay or move.  We love our house. It's a great house. When we moved here, I was pregnant with Cailin.  The house had four bedrooms (plenty big) and a great backyard (small, but great) in a great, friendly neighborhood.

When we talked in the past about moving, we said we'd move if we could find a place that offered more space. Specifically, more land. We wanted to have some land to spread out on.  We thought that would be happening later in life.

So when our friends moved, we were sad. Very sad. We loved being able to see them whenever we wanted.  We still can, not like they moved far away. But that got us to thinking about moving again.

Should we or shouldn't we.

Then we made the mistake of 'well, lets just look around and see what's out there'.  Then we found this place.

So then, we started doing this......

The kids were nervous, but excited to start the new adventure.

And they loved the hot tub.  And the laundry chute. Those were the two big selling points for the kids.

More on the new house later. Promise!

New Year's 2013/2014

So we're sitting around at home over the winter holiday and our neighbors were packing up to head up north for the long New Year's Weekend.

They were kind enough to invite us, but we said, 'no, we probably should just stick around at home'.  We didn't really have plans. Other than work. Nothing really big going on.

So then the morning when the Frasers are leaving, they call and say "You guys can still come up if you want to...."  Then Sarah called again.  "We'll see you in a few hours...." kidding around. So then I said to Mike - why not? Why don't we just go??  I left a message at work, Mike did the same. We packed up (in about 30 minutes which is an all time record).  Called the kennel, dropped of the dog and hit the road.

We called on our way and said we were on our way.  "REALLY??!!!" Sarah asked - yuppers!  We kept it a secret from the Fraser kids so we'd roll up and surprise them.

Everyone was SO happy to be together! We played Foosball, played in the pool and played outside.  They had a TON of snow.  It was deeper than I've ever seen up there.

And we got a snowstorm while up there. Which was beautiful. Mainly beautiful because we didn't have to drive in it.

It was super cold too - like Black Ice cold.  But we had a blast and all got home safely.

What a wonderful weekend!!

Christmas 2013

We spent Christmas with the Friary side a few days before Christmas, then we were home Christmas Eve.

We first went to Pine Island for the first of several Christmas'.   It was fun to have everyone together, Wanda and Sean, Grandma and Grandpa, Katrine and Tony and all of us.

The kids got fabulous gifts and were ecstatic to open up each one.  I'd like to say they took their time opening them, but they really didn't.

Then we were able to spend Christmas Eve at home. Oma, Uncle Chris and Jennifer came to spend the evening with us.  Then Oma spent the night! She got to witness the loot Santa brought for everyone (including her).

It was a wonderful weekend. Cold, but wonderful!

Halloween 2013

We had a wonderful Halloween this year.  The kids were excited to go Trick or Treating and we did it with our good friends the Frasers.

Cailin was a Cheerleader, Andrew was Star Wars guy (some name I can't spell) and Maddy was Rapunzel.

First of course, we had to carve our pumpkins.

Then, a few nights later, got all dressed up and went trick or treating with our neighbors.  We had a BLAST! The kids favorite stop was out our neighbors, the Schleppers. They had a cotton candy machine and that was the 'treat' they were giving out.

SO fun!!
